Biography of E. Garth Erdossy
President of GLJ Partners
E. Garth Erdossy, President of GLJ Partners (formerly Nexus Residential Communities, Inc.) along with other key team members, is responsible for all aspects of business including: site selection and acquisition, securing project entitlements, project design, construction oversight and management of all related development activities. In addition, Erdossy is responsible for securing third party equity and debt capital, and has structured and closed over $550,000,000 worth of projects in his career.
Prior to forming GLJ Partners, Mr. Erdossy teamed up with Curt Olson to form Nexus Residential Communities, Inc. whose company’s main goal was to develop attached for sale and for rent product. As President & CEO, he oversaw all acquisition, development and construction in Southern California. Recent projects include “Biltmore”, a 133 condominium and 19 single family home project in Palm Springs, “Oak Springs Ranch”, a 312-unit luxury apartment and 103 single family home project in Wildomar and a 146 condominium project in Irvine.
Mr. Erdossy began his real estate career at Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) as a property manager of a 300-unit apartment community in Germantown, Maryland and spent almost two years as an on-site construction superintendent. Mr. Erdossy spent ten years at Trammell Crow Residential (TCR), most recently as Division Partner where he was responsible for the development and construction of over 4,325 multifamily units, 1,000 hotel rooms, and the acquisition and rehabilitation of over 1,300 multifamily units in the Western United States. Mr. Erdossy also created three of TCR’s development and construction companies in the Rocky Mountains and Southern California regions renaming it Trammell Crow Residential Southwest (TCRS).
BRE was successor in interest to Trammell Crow Residential Southwest (TCRS), whereby BRE acquired the business from Erdossy and his partners for approximately $600 million.
Mr. Erdossy holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in finance and real estate from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and National Multi-Housing Council.
