Development Services Coordinator

We are looking for someone to join the GLJ team.

GLJ Partners is a residential real estate development, investment and construction company with offices in Carlsbad, CA and Atlanta, GA. GLJ builds high quality multifamily residential projects throughout the Southern California region. GLJ acts as principal, developer and contractor in every project it pursues.

We are seeking a high energy candidate for the Development Services Director position. This position reports directly to the Managing Partner of the firm. This position holds a multitude of responsibilities, which include researching city fees, creating market studies, office management, cost accounting for pre-development and development consultants, creating consultant agreements and creating investor packages. Some of the duties this position performs are as follows:

  • Researching City/County development and construction fees for new development
  • Creating and periodically updating market studies
  • Creating and producing fund and project investment booklets
  • Managing consultant invoices and billings, reviewing and reconciling month end reports, managing job cost budgets , and controlling and tracking check requests for various projects
  • Managing overhead invoices
  • Writing and administering consultant agreements and change orders, creating billing spreadsheets, insurance requirements and billing procedures
  • Office Management – interfacing with property management for repairs/requests, etc, order supplies, managing office operations and equipment
  • Administrative Duties – providing support to Managing Partner and Vice President, preparing expense reports, registering for meetings and handling all travel arrangements, maintaining large electronic and hard copy filing system, handling any new or renewing memberships/subscriptions, creating weekly meeting minutes, providing any additional support as needed

Do you have these qualifications?

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in real estate development
  • Strong computer skills – proficient in all MS Office applications, spreadsheets, creating charts and graphs, Adobe Acrobat 9, Visio and AIA software
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to work with internal and external parties
  • Strong organization skills, proactive self starter with a positive “can do” attitude and strong work ethic
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, comfortable in a fast paced environment
